Nice, very nice. Love the moods you captured in each one. They're like Cindy Sherman photographs or similar - stills from a movie, there's a narrative to each and to the set that we could pick up on if we spend enough time looking... Sizes? Prices? Not wanting to be nosy, but just curious.... did you sell any/many?

The lady with the white gloves and leather jacket's my favorite. But they're all good, love the mood and the loose brushwork.

WOW! soooo many great pieces !Love soo many different things, the EDGES, love the leaves on "Spring s" and the water in "Lily" ,"lowkey" just makes me grin and "jen1" is pure awesome. Thanks so much for sharing ! If its not to much trouble I'd be interested to know the size of some of these, to get a sense of the scale you're working at.

p.s. With your photography and painting skills is there any chance of seeing a "Book" of you paintings maybe from one of the many P.O.D (printondemand) sites? an oversized coffeetable size maybe

Whoa where did this come from, and how didn't I notice it? Stellar work as always. My favorite's the second one - her arm melds to the background just like your pen/pencil work. The contrast of clarity and blur is just gorgeous. It's a great play on reality. We want to believe it's true but we know it's not - very compelling.

The girl in the red coat has a great colorscheme. Man I'd love to see these in person.

When are you going to update your sketchbook man??? I've been going back there for months waiting... Just draw something, anything and post it there, and definately post your portrait of Emily!

Oh yeah, no need to answer, but I'm kinda curious about the real name of one of my favorite artists? I'd been thinking of posting you under L in the favorite's thead in the lounge.

you are doing something new with the light in lillies and window light, which is really really nice - has a solidarity combined with warmth that is pushing further than your last batch. really sweet shit, bru.

Hey thanks for the replies people, the feedback I get here means more to me than what I get probably anywhere else.
I genuinely dig that people have such varied favorites.. its kinda a relief to know that each has its appeal to different folks. Opens things up to a bigger audience I guess.

donallfall - There was a few more than is shown though I've posted them a while back.. ain the end I sold 8 and the prices ranged from a couple to a little over 8 grand. I'll update the thread with dimensions soon.

Victor B - A book?? Err honestly.. I feel completley underqualified to have my paintings in print. Though the idea is great.. I mean who owouldn't like to have a book of their own work. If anything it'd be my sketches first. Hopefully. Totally flattered that you think these worthy though.

TASmith - Sketchbook is updated:) Name? Luke Hollis.. (feels a little odd spelling that out) Portrait of Emily is up... its not the most accurate painting though. Posting my work in the favs thread in the lounge?? Sheesh, dunno bout that buddy. ;)

Koppa - Anything you want Luke.. anything at all;) As long as you tell me how you managed to get your girl buddies to post nude for you.

HunterKiller - Yeah man, it was a pretty cool setup.. tunes and whatnot. Jas is heading to the next one on Tuesday.. I was planning on going but will flag, as its the night before flying to Welly. See you there!

Zaxser - "Haven't seen you since those digitals of jesus & co" what what???
Oh how I wish I was living the dream!! Man I'm looking for some more work as painting isn't cutting it. NZ is tiny and will pay good money for art, for the most part though, if you are a 'somebody'. Becoming a 'somebody' seems to be a time thing, more than I had initially assumed.

Ead - haha.. I'm hoping to split my time between the two!.. but getting work in photography is proving to be super difficult. Plus I have no idea where to start.

again thanks to *everyone* who posted. You cats are the bussinazz.

Heres a better shot of the painting from yesterday(fixed a few edges etc). Its less accurate the more I look at it!.. I sometimes think I can get away with it without a sketch or base layer but ultimately I shoot myself in the foot.
Thanks again Emily:)
