Hello Everyone! My name is Emmanuel Telles, i am Brazilian and i'm joining this great forum to help me with my drawing skills and also, motivate me to make more arts.
I am 16 years old, all my life was interested in learning drawing but i was really bad, then in November,2007 i met 3Ds Max and to improve my Modeling skills i started drawing. Really bad arts at the beginning, i started to improve a little.
Im going to post some of my arts done recently, im also reading Andrew Loomis books but i have no clue where are the sketchs that i've done.
I have also bought a Tablet and from now on im just gonna draw at it :D
I also got problems drawing hands and feet and painting.
The draws are in order i made them, the first i used Riven Phoenix technique to help me create them and the other 2 was with reference of a card and a wolf photo. Thank you all.

I made my Char from World of Warcraft and also got a pic from Uni and tried to draw him :D
I needed some hints on how to make my drawing like better and also maybe some tutorials or books to help me painting.

I like the content of your drawings. My only critique is that they look a little too light. More contrast would be nice. As for books, the most recommended are usually Loomis (http://www.alexhays.com/loomis/) and Bridgman (http://www.archive.org/details/humanmachinethea009564mbp) (2) (http://www.archive.org/details/constructiveanat00briduoft). Posemaniacs (http://posemaniacs.com/) has a nice 30 second exercise that helps you break away from static poses. There's also an entire thread (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=94571) listing tons of free online books.
Hope that helps, and keep it up! :)

Thank you, Talo!
I kinda have this problem of lights and shades and also painting.
I would really appreciate if anyone could give me some hints or books to help me on that.

Hey guys, i didn't stop drawing, it was just my scanner that broke so i wasn't able to scan my drawing. There you go, most of them are sketches to study proportion/skeleton/muscles that I'm learning with Riven Phoenix.

Keep on studyin'. Try to make things less flat. Loosen up too-- you don't always need to draw clean, finished lines. Those scapula studies have lots of volume to them! Great job! You may want to post smaller images too, unless you really want us to look closely at the marks you make. Also, you can crop out the white in some of them with Photoshop or MSPaint. Just makes it easier to look at, without all that blinding white space. Decreases file size too!

Hey Guys! Now I'm studying the Spine, using the tablet, i got really a bad result at first since I'm just starting to use the tablet, but i am improving! another thing that i really got amazed, i tried to paint one of my study, the first result was "blerg!!!" the second was "less blerg!!" the third "almost no blerg!" and i improved just by doing it 3 times, without any reference, shading study, just doing it seeing where the color would be better.

cool studies!
I recommend to watch your lines…try to make them clean, draw one line instead of ten little strokes. more contrast as Talo said is also important to make your drawings look 3D, not flat!
keep posting!
cheers

Hey Thank you for the comment but i don't know if i should start doing this with the anatomy study sketches or wait till i end those and do the shading when i start studying movement studies?
And about the lines, its really hard to keep them clean, i can do it at the paper, not at the tablet O.O, but im trying.

hmm. well if you´re just doing poses, or many hand sketches, for exemple, the linework alone is ok. … actually Linework´s always oke if its good =) but shading will support the feeling of light and 3 dimensionality…and as it is kinda tricky as I figured out, I recommend to start as early as possible
cheers
