This is the beginings of a bodyguard, one of three.

The pose seems pretty familar, I am sure I have seen it before, though I don't know where. Its pretty common I guess.

The only thing strange about it is the arms, both arms are pretty off I think for the pose. The left arm with the sword seems to be pretty uncomfortable and just wrong. Where as his right arm seems cliche and stupid where pose is concerned. So I am really looking for some good feedback on the arms more than anything else.

But I definately wouldnt mind c&c outside of that.

If you're up in the air on the pose, perhaps look at some classic, defensive sword fighting positions for inspiration to really capture the sense of 'bodyguard' in the character.

Sorry I don't have good feedback for the arms ;)

Thats alright, I definately appreciate the help! I have two more bodyguards to paint, though both of which use guns.

I am just going to finish this guy up with the current pose and change the angle of his sword slightly to make it a bit more comfortable.

Maybe I will come back to him another time, but I have to remind myself to keep moving I guess.

Thank you. I dont really feel the same way though, I have just been studying Prometheus and Sedone's work and kind of following the way they seem to use colors and values. The biggest difference I am noticing is that when I think about the color too much I start having problems, I just have to do what first comes to mind and it seems to work out well.

Hmm...the right foot (his right) looks too small from this angle. Also, are you going to add more detail to the eyes or leave them black?

i think that about the arm, his left arm, the biceps part seems kinda low on it, it turns into a little ball at the end of his upper arm almost, an then there is a little edge where the elbow part would be and then the lower arm is a continued shape of the bicep part kinda. maybe it is just me though, i hope you understand what i mean. i like it otherwise, if you do something about the feet, both of them seems a bit flat in my opinon.. hope it helps, i am not a master but anyway
