The brothers Eloy and Javier Delgado found out in April 2000 the biggest isolated crystals, at the moment, in the world.

I saw that in my paper a few days ago and was sad that even in special suit you could only stay there for 20 minute max.

I saw this a few years ago. It's amazing...who know what else we would find deep underground? Diamonds big as basketballs? Rivers of platinum and gold? We really need to build a borer machine like in the movies.
P.S. Maybe the photo above is from a different site?

100% humidity will hinder your skin from transpiring, which in turn will make your body overheat. You'll eventually sustain a collaps and die if you don't get out. Who knows if this guy in the picture still lives :D
Anyway, made my day.

That image would be a lot more convincing if that person didn't have arms and legs that looked to be redder than a lobster :P
(though I don't doubt the authenticity, just wondering how they're doing it)

Maybe it's from when they first found it. Those guys can't have heen wearing any kinds of suits... Maybe he exploded two minutes later? o_O
Here's a movie from when they found it or something... No suits. They complain about the heat though...

I saw this in the latest issue of National Geographic. It's very cool, but seeing all those people climbing over those huge crystals, I wonder: aren't they afraid of getting impaled or sliced open? Those things look sharp!

I wonder if they read Superman. Imagine if they did, they'd probably feel like kids in a candy shop.

NGTV had a show (http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/episode/giant-crystal-cave-3569/Overview?#tab-Videos/05857_00) on this a couple weeks ago. It's quite amazing. Scientists are also interested in it because it might help in the search for otherworldly life forms. It will air again November 17th.
The scientists "base" of operations and tunnels leading to it also look like the rebel base on Hoth.

That crystal is a type of gypsum called Selenite. It's really cool, under the right conditions, it grows so fast you can see it. Which means those crystals practically grew overnight!

Wonder what happens if one of those on the ceiling of the cave come down for a visit. "Hey mister skullcap, how's it going?" *shiver*
