The character I was commisioned to create had (among others) this strange requirement : Eight inch wide feet! :). Oh, well: challenge!! :).
There will be some interesting "effect-stuff" drawn where his had touches the tree trunk, for he drains power from the plant life :). Also there will be more sublte hues added to the somewhat crude colors in the final.

Any opinions at this stage will be very very VERY welcomed, for I'll be able to implement them effectivelly.

I'd put more detail into the foot, especially as it's so important. Looks good otherwise. I like the foliage around him. Something a bit strange about the neck. Maybe to deep of shadows where it meets the collarbone?

Hello, I'm here to post some progress close-up, as promised ;).

Nikia: Thank you. Ofcourse, it is going to have more details when it is finished. And I painted in the neck :). Better?

I've been told the expression might need more "oomph" :).
(He is supposed to be exhausted and at the same time draining life from the tree.)

And a small version of the whole. Does it "read" easely enough ?

Thank you for the feedback.

His leg there could use some definition, but it is still cool as it is. Very good would be cool to see some of that purple energy snaking up his arm :)

I do like your work! It's very good. I'd like to see some of the detail on the bushes brought back. Some more shadow under the foot to define the instep. Also I think talmir is right about the purple light. Bringing it up the arm would also caste a purple glow on the right side of his neck. As his neck is now the highlight on the right side makes it look like he has a necklace hanging from his ears. Either that or tone the highlight on the right side of the neck down a bit, seeing as it's mostly in shadow. Hope this helps.

nice work

why is he dropping the sword? i guess it fits in the context of your commision.

also the weighting of the figure makes it seem as though he is leaning back slightly too much -- this is a two-edged sword as it partly makes him appear to b eaxhausted but also to be falling.

Just some suggestions. And i agree with the snaking energy idea. Good job
