I'd like to second that remark, and also elaborate with a suggestion of perhaps a white or light gray background? Something to make that form "pop" out from the page, and also help contrast what I'm sure are great little details....

At the moment it's really hard to distinguish forms and lines with the object and the background being, as stated, dark.

too dark, actually.
