Hi everyone, I've been drawing on a regular wacom tablet plugged into an Apple cinema display for years now, and I recently bought a Cintiq 21 hoping to become faster etc... However the screen is 20 -30% more contrasty than my MacBook pro that I'm running it from despite them both having Adobe 1998 display colour profiles...

I contacted Wacom and they said this was "normal" for it to be darker! The problem is I'm getting tired of all the constant colour corrections.... Am I doing some things wrong? I've played with the contrast setting on the Cintiq to no avail so far, does anyone else have this issue with the Cintiq?

Appreciate any thoughts on this, thanks......

I manually adjusted both of my screens until they are somewhat close. Don't worry about it too much - one of the perks of digital art is that everybody will have their screen set up just a bit differently, so they won't see your art 100% the way you intend for them to see anyways ;)

Thanks Nightblue, so you did find that the Cintiq was significantly darker?

I had a similar problem. My Cintiq screen was more saturated and darker. However, after messing with the temp settings on the Cintiq I was able to get it close enough that I could work on the Cintiq without worrying about color distortion.

Thanks Chachia, so you went into the RGB sliders in the Cintiq display menu? I think I'll have to play with it again, at the moment I'm using my cinema display and the cintiq is back in the box as one of my clients had mentioned that the images looked "pale" in the email, whereas on the Cintiq they were spot on. I didn't have time to go into colour settings so just switch back to my old display....
