Hi. Virgin poster. Slightly nervous.

I began painting the mountains in this image simply as a way to test some new brushes. They finished up looking like the background for a cheesy fantasy piece, so I decided to develop the rest of the image in a similar style. I'm afraid that's the best I can do to try and excuse the cliched subject matter..!

I think you can tell this piece started life without much forethought, but it's a departure from my usual rendering style, so any comments are very welcome.

I'm new around here as well. This made me laugh. This is very good work. To take a clever tack on a rendered image--and hey, the title's funny, too--really inspired.

Thanks for your comments! I'm going to persue this style for a while, and here's the result of some further tests. Not so happy with the final image, but I'm almost getting the textural effect I was looking for.

Thankyou all very much! Lots more stuff in the works, which I'll post as they're completed.
