You've got alot of layer styles going on there. I tend to prefer a "less is more" attitude when it comes to web design and I think removing some of the shadows and effects might help the design, especially around the navigation. That area especially looks too busy.

I agree with helix7, Yes, it looks too busy, It was hard for me to find where the links were.
Well, I'm ID (Industrial Design) student, and one main thing in designing car or product is "Make it Simple."
so there, try not to use too many patterns.. think about 80's car and cars today, or an old analog TV to digital TV, the design got simpler. If you keep that in mind when you are designing something conceptual, it'll will help ^^

i think the fonts rickty rockn myzelf-
but now that i look agin it does seem a bit busy mebby if i smallen the window and refine the titles for each section that would help seemes a bit gaulky-
thanks-
here is the basic structure so far i uploaded it for tests..
yeah i think the resume sections crap- and i broke up the title
in flash but i will break it up in photoshops
i will be animating the parts and working on transitions ...
be warned dsl extreme

I like the side to side version better, but you should tone it down a bit. Its very busy. I do have some crits on your site though...
**Graphic Design
-Debit Card Link is "Glitchy": I don't know how flash works, but it seems like the area that you have marked off as a link is actually lots of little boxes bunched together, or like the letters themselves are the link. Hope that makes some sense.
**Logo
-The Arrows are Hard to See: I did see them fairly quickly, but they should still be large. They blend into the framework of the site instead of jumping out at you saying "I'm Clickable!" (This goes for all the arrows)
**Sketch
-Scrolling Thumbnails are Annoying: Yes, its a neat feature, but it is annoying as hell. Instead of looking at the pictures I'm playing around with the scroll.
**Flash
-02 Self Promo is Busy: This thing flew by me so fast I didn't know what hit me. Things were constantly moving and I could barely read any of the text. I know this isn't really about the site, but its something to consider.
Nice Job.
