I am a senior in high school and am interested in becoming a game environment artist. I plan to graduate and train myself for a few years as long as it takes me to become ready. I am currently working on my traditional art drawing and painting. From here I will move on to digital painting/concept art and then to the modeling, texturing, and lighting process. I a person who is learning to observe light and shapes more and more. I am not a great drawer yet, but I am learning to see what is really there, I have started drawing every day from when I get home from school until I sleep. Currently I am focusing on setting up stills and trying my best at realism focusing on the light and shape not so much the textures. Should I keep doing this type of drawing first, or should I start practicing line drawing getting the most detail into the idea I have in my head with as little tone as possible? To make it clear currently I am working to perfect the technical aspect of drawing and develop a style, I will then move on to painting.
