I admit it - I was absolutely inspired by McNallyism (and copied one and a half of his creatures!) - I hope you don't mind, my humble tries are rather a compliment than ripping. They were absolutely fun to draw and I just want to share them - however, I'm always grateful for hints and tips and criticism.

wow. I'm flattered! I'm glad my drawings were able to inspire you, jester. I really like the tentacle shell-type creature you have there. My suggestion to you is to throw some more creatures into the mix. This is the same advice that my dimensional illustration teacher gave me when I was trying to design creatures in his class. The more animals you use to draw inspiration from, the more outlandish your creature will be. Some grat creatures to get inspiration from for underwater creatures are deep-sea fishes. I see you already took the "lantern" feature for one of your creatures, but there's a lot more you can "steal" from them. They have super alien-looking anatomy and cool skin textures. keep going!

Sean, thanks for your reply, that's a real motivation boost! I'm glad that you didn't mind but rather understood these as the compliment they were meant to be.
