Hello All.
Umm, I've been a lurker around here for a while and finally decided to start a sketchbook.
I first discovered this site in high school; now I'm 17 and a freshman in college (currently undeclared).
Thanks for looking. Constructive criticism is welcome.

These are some of my artworks for AP Art.
1st: Oil pastel.
2nd: White charcoal on black pastel paper.
3rd: Cutouts.
4th: Pencil and cutouts. (Arg, the graphite on the foot is really shiny. The shadows are really, really dark.)
5th: Linoleum stamp.
6th: Watercolor on this weird board.

When I get bored, I draw faces. Most of these are drawn in class and colored later.

Ah, really cool analogue stuff; wonderful use of watercolors. I really like though, the anime-styled stuff. xD; For some reason it's just something I can connect to; for the past few years it's all I've really known.
Good work, keep it up!

My57 - It's one of my favorites. I spent a lot of time on it. It's too bad that the scan doesn't show all the detail.
Shalite - Thanks. I love watercolors too!
Grafguy - I was thinking of actually making a bigger version of the little boy about to swim, but I'm in my dorm and left all my brushes and watercolor paper at home. :^^;:
Anyways, I've been trying to do a charcoal portrait of my favorite hockey player. This is my second attempt. Whenever I look at it I feel something isn't quite right. I'm not sure what it is though. I'm frustrated, so he is on my floor right now (where no one will step on him). BTW the reference picture is really small, so I kinda made up some shadows. (Oh, yea. I only put eyelashes on one eye. I'll put some on the other later.)
Please tell me if you see anything wrong with it and how to improve. Thanks^^;;

A portrait of me. LOL. I made the mouth a little too high though.

hey man really like the portraits, i think in the first one either the face outline is too big or the features are to small, but really well done.
The second portrait i love the shading it is so minimal but makes a huge impact. Except for the mouth which you pointed out was a bit high it looks amazing really well done.
keep up the great work :)

Yes, the first is Stevie Wonder^^ Because he is god. Hahahha.
The second, I used a mechanical pencil but it wasn't dark enough. So I used real pencils. lol.
The last is a random face.

Hey, really cool things especially among the first ones you posted.
You're on the path to fast improvement if you practice everyday.
Draw and paint from life, a lot!

i think your sketches rock! but like me, u need to do more figure drawings to understand muscle structure so ur figures look fuller and has more definite form.

@ Leo Ki - Thanks. With so much work for school, I haven't been able to draw much. I'll be on summer vacation soon. So I'll have the time to practice everyday.
@ emptyvessel - Thanks. I've been trying to do more muscle studies. Finals are next week so I've been studying for them. This'll all be over soon. And I can get back to drawing. I've missed it so much.
This is some stuff from last year. Just faces and a random dragon.

1. My friend told me that this could be a skateboard design. I kinda lost steam while I was doing this.
2. Started this in an English class. Finished it later that week.
3. Possibly inspired by Constantine, I'm not sure.
4. My Bio professor.
5. A creepily flexible creature of mine. Female and male versions. They are observers who record events and store them somewhere hidden.

This second to last post with the creature design is interestinggg, the eye on the hand reminds me of Pan's Labyrinth
Keep it comin'! <3
