been trying to learn some new stuff painting digitally so i played with this thing.. took about 2 hours.

neato, i think the falloff is too sudden, perhaps add some haze and smooth out the transition, should help give it some depth.

The second one is a lot better Mysen. I like the color correction you did on it and I like the texture you've got going on. Only thing I see is the rock on the right looks a bit soft compared to the others. Perhaps make the highlights crisper to bring it up to the level of the others. Great work.

Nice composition. Here is a quick overpaint:

Right now your values appear muddled by the atmospheric perspective. I would concentrate on how the values lose contrast as they approach the horizon color.

Also, try varying the angles of the mountain forms and break up the valley floor. This will create a more interesting design.

Indeed steve, good critique. Personally I would add a detail to give the pic more "kick", but that's just me and I'm an art bum :). A sketched gnarled tree or something :).

Maybe ease up the contrast on the cracks in the stone. Looks great otherwise.

just played with the colors to see what it would look like with differnt hues.. im still workin on this whole color pallete thing..
