It takes some time sometimes to get a response in the critique forum, but it really is the way to go. It might be frustrating to not get help when you want it, but posting in the wrong forum just to get noticed is likely to get you noticed for the wrong things.

The WIP section doesn't have as many postees, so if you're working towards something you might have a better chance there.

k, thanks for the responses, i'll be more persistent on the Critique forums. Also i apologize for posting here, i'm still a newbie when it comes to this site so i'm still trying to figure it all out.
