Off the top of my head:

-Guache (sp) paint, oil paint maybe.
-Toned paper sketchbooks
-All of Ashley Wood's Popbot series ( got my hands on #3)

More to come maybe...

1. A less hectic class schedule.
2. Prismacolor markers. I go through about two sets of warm gray a year.
3. creta Color aqua monoliths. The best water color sticks available. I tried them two years ago and now I'm hooked.
4. Penny Bond white paper.
5. Painter 8. I still haven't upgraded.
6. White pigment markers, paint markers etc. I use those exclusively for highlights.

Other than that, I can't think of anything.

November 17th, 2003, 06:29 PM
-Painter 8 upgrade
-some dvds (for inspiration of course)
-one of h.r. giger's books (haven't decided which one yet)
-external hard drive, because im running out of room for "reference" pictures

-some spiral sketchbooks (these two held together by glue are not durable)
-large pad of newsprint, so i can practice larger drawings
-some woodless graphite

and hopefully, some sense of time so i can draw more, and do less: of schoolwork/staring at the art on the forums :)

alla prima would be nice. they're out of print (right?), so it has to be bought from someone - not sure if i can trust $150 to someone just yet...

Well, a tablet would be cool or a scanner. But I doubt I'll see either unless santa really does exist... I always kick myself when I realise what I could be spending my car payments on... fancy cars are fun, but damn... there are better ways to have fun.

I am glad I found this place. I have not done much of anything since I left college eight years ago. I really needed the comradre and friendly competition that comes from being sorrounded by other artists. I have therefore decided to use all of you as a means to motivate myself and get back into creating.

A good 21" screen. My current 19" is making my eyes bleed.

An A3 colorprinter would be cool. And an A3scanner to go with that.

But thats just wishfull thinking, i know exactly what i will get, for i get the exact same thing every year, sketching paper and underwear.

Depending on a girlfriend to be your muse or motivation is as silly as depending on a forum of strange artists... oh wait...

YMMV but my girlfriend does not assist in the proliferation of art. We usually find other things to do.

I wonder what percentage of CA members made the same comment I did... the old, "thank goodness I found this site. It will so motivate me. Blah blah blah." I also wonder what percentage of members have scrawled,"I suck!" somewhere in their sketch book. I bet many of them do not suck as badly as they believe.

Secretly I want a spell from some sort of necronomicon like tomb that steals all of the mad skillz from people like Zhang, Feng-Zhu, et al and then dumps that marvelous loot into my wee noggin. All the skillz and abilities without all of the work and dedication!

an intuos2 6x9 tablet
some prismacolor markers and pencils
some real marker paper (cant find any up here)
some pilot hi-tec C pens (loads of em)
more books for my reference library
a gibson SG, black (had to sell mine =()
a gibson les paul classic, black
and more time.....

and about the girlfriend thing...theyre cool and all, but they take up so much damn time!!
my gf even likes to draw and create, but gf's always want to go OUT and DO stuff..lol
i swear, i did so much art while she was gone for a week one time....i drew everyday! nop im lucky if i get to draw once a week...

*sigh* oh well...

I wouldn't mind a Lexus IS300 (supposedly it has the same inline six as the old supras). But a skyline would be nice, but hard to find in the ol' US of A.

Or for my car to get stolen, of course I'll have to edit this post just in case it is stolen... insurance fraud suspicions and all. But that would be a nice present for christmas. a-yup.

What I want:

Drawing on the right side of the brain- Heard it's a great book, and I don't have any drawing books!
Drawing Dynamic Hands (Burne Hogarth(sp?))- I love drawing hands, and this books looks awesome for that sort of stuff.
Drawing Heads(Err... not the real name, something like that though.) by Burne Hogarth- I need to work on heads/portraits, looks like a good book.
More Prismacolor markers-I love these things
Another sketchpad- I'll need a new one soon, running out of room!
Wacom tablet- Just the small little cheap one, would be awesome. :)
Feng's concept DVD's 1 & 3- I love feng. :)
Painter 8- Might get the combo with the wacom. But it's 200 bucks! :O

Ah, a good christmas. :)

Naw, man, you don't wan't that...my boyfriend is an artist, but we have totally different stlyes...I'm cartoony, but he draws almost photorealistic. So we basically critique each other all the time and tell each other how to do better. It's cool, but at the same time it's ultra-frustrating!!!:bash:

well, we have different styles too but not that different. I have no complaints so far. We try to teach each other how to draw things better, like i suck at drawing chicks and she's good at that.
