Hi everyone,
I've just completed my entry for a challenge organized by 3DVF, a french forum about digital images. The theme was "the worlds of Jules Verne" (a writer you've probably heard about).
Each participant had to choose one of his books and illustrate a scene out of it. I chose "Around the world in 80 days" (sorry for such a poor translation) which tells the story of an english gentleman who bet he would be able to turn around the world in less than 80 days. Since the story takes place in 1872, it's some kind of a challenge for him.
For my entry, since the major interest of that book is the travel itself, I've decided to include several images in one image, in a range of graphic styles that spread from ... hem ... many centuries (indian and chinese paintings) to 1930's. You could tell me "hey why do you mix all these styles since the story sets in the 1870's ; I'll answer "more fun and more variety, simply"
So I made a border in Mucha style, with women representing Europe, Middle East, Asia and America, (regions that the hero crossed). Then there are 3 panels showing a precise scene of the travel, in the style of the country where it takes place. I could add a few more explanation, but before my speech starts to bore you to tears, let's show the picture, hoping you'll enjoy it. If some are interested, I will post some close up and a WIP :)
