Ugh, lately...drawing has been such a source of uncreativity. Paradox? I think not.
But allow me to elaborate.
In the past few years I've learned the spectacular effects of drawing from life and from reference. Before I was shot down by the Art teacher [who, by the by, cannot draw herself] I used to draw entirely from imagination. Now about 10% of what I draw is all imagined.
But recently, whenever I draw straight from my head, it all feels so...overused. Like I'm not coming up with anything new, just re-using old poses and faces and etc etc. It just feels like it's all been done before.
So I try to get some ideas from people on the forums, see what they sketch out on their free time, and it all looks the same. Boring standard poses...Character designs that have already been done before...
I'm so uninspired!
Though it seems to fit hand in hand with how I've been feeling about the real world, lately, too. Funny how art and life are so intertwined.
Has this ever happened to you? Were you able to get reinspired? x__x
