I already own almost all of Richard Schmid's DVD's. I can't get enough of those.

The massive black DVD was great too, but it was only 1 dvd having to do with oils.
What other DVD's are there? Painting DVD's are like gold to me... I love them.

Well,
It may seem a little egotistical...
But Aaron Fagerstrom of Massive Black JUST mailed me a rough copy of my upcoming DVD.
It is a 2 disc set... running time 5 HOURS!... and follows the creation of one of my illustrations from start to finish.
It should be released in a month or so from MB.
I've watched about 3 hours so far, and man is this thing thorough!
Awesome?
That's subjective.
In-depth?
That's definite!

Do you have a link to a preview, or a link to an image of the painting he completes?

I'm just curious...
I see every awesome painter have a palette setup like that, where you have your paints set out in massive amounts around the side, and a glass plate in the middle. Do you ever clean the paints off when you're not painting, or do you just leave it on there and cover it or something.
I always put my oils on a glass sheet and when I'm done with a painting I remove EVERYTHING off the glass (including the pure tube paint I haven't used) and then throw it away. I don't have a studio though so I can't exactly just let it sit.
How do you keep it from drying out if that's what you do.. and how often do you clean the entire palett?

A dab of linseed oil and clingfilm.

Isn't sticking the palette in the freezer (after being covered, of course) also supposed to help to delay paint drying out?
Alternatively, just paint all the time. Never let anything dry out. ;)

Thanks guys.
And WOW -- Just watched both those youtubes. Fucking EPIC.
I am for sure buying the Lipkin one, and the other one when it comes out.
Lipkin reminds me of sargent and schmid. he only has one DVD though... From the artists perspective, you could make mad bank... I mean you paint every day anyway, just sell one painting and you have enough money to record another instruction DVD. If you have like 5 or 6 people would benefit so much.
