Heya CA.

I was wondering if anyone fancies having a go at designing some kind of logo for my site - basically I've asked a few models if they would wear a shirt depicting some kind of logo for photos.

My site is: http://incdesign.site90.com/

I've had a few attemps, and not really sure what I'm after, very much appreciated if anyone can help with some ideas.

That website had music and looking at anything in detail was tough. A logo is the last thing you need to consider.

Those galleries stretch to full screen. ;)

I left as soon as I saw the loading screen creeping like someone had shot it in the gut, if there is music aswell, then YES, you need to reconsider... :)

It's only 1.70Mb, that's not that bad. Any ideas? I was really happy with it, but respect the thoughts of a reputable forum such as this. :)

Well, itīs still going like 1%... 2%... 3%..., and if I donīt see something that makes me go "whoah! I need to wait this out to see some more", then Iīll be reaching for that little x in the corner :)

The main problem is that the gallery youīve chosen makes it a pain to navigate your work, it tilts like mad and makes it into a hazzle, something you really donīt want. You want the work to be the main focus, right? So you donīt want them to struggle with actually looking at it, I find myself clicking outside the window when trying to move from one image to another, and the constant tilting is so distracting Iīd get rid of it ASP. Otherwise your actual layout was pretty good, easy to find everything and information was short and to the point. I would think about removing the outlines/shadows from your main font, because it makes a decorative font like that harder to read than it already is...

Music on websites = IMO always a big no-no, it is distracting, annoying and fucks up the visitors own music, I mean, pretty much everyone listens to music while surfing these days. Youīre not going to get them to turn of their own music to listen to whatever youīve chosen, so your music will either get turned of to make room for something better, or because itīs annoying as hell... :p

Dude, I got to 35% loading before I clicked the hell away from that. NEVER put flash animation or music on a front screen or on a website in general, really. Do you know how irritating it is if I have music on and then some stupid site interrupts it with THEIR theme?

I think you need to take a good hard look at How Not to Display Your Artwork on the Web (http://www.linesandcolors.com/2007/05/31/how-not-to-display-your-artwork-on-the-web/).

Read that, memorize it, go fix your site, and then you can come talk about logos.

Do you want a site using a professional presentation or one that serves yourself and pisses everyone else off?

Use XHTML, and a little CSS. No black backgrounds. No Flash. No music, no candy, flashing blinking colour text, refusal to fix the site after much specific instruction from a community you apparently trust.

Look at well developed sites like sparth (http://www.sparth.com) and barontieri (http://www.barontieri.com)

I like the idea of the tilt viewer, but it makes it somewhat hard to navigate. I got stuck in the top row of your work and struggled to move down to a bottom row. I also had the site on mute (I'm at school atm) and trust me, the visuals on the site are enough to keep the view interested. You don't need to added music, and if you take that and the tilt-y thing out it would load a lot faster and fix the wait.

You can still have your art work tilted if that's what you like, and I do think that's a much more interesting way to present your work rather than just
. . . .
but maybe you could take out how the screen moves with the mouse and just have it stationary. When you click a picture it an zoom in, and please include a zoom out button, of it you had one and i just didn't see it, make it more noticeable.

I think that's a good way to start and work from there. Once you've got your site down you can work on the logo. Although.. personally I think that should have been hammered out waaaay before you even considered a site.

The site looks cool, but you shouldn't have made it entirely Flash-based. Some computers don't work well with flash. I'm also at school, and I had to immediatly mute the music. Take the music out. The music plus the graphics is overkill. Just choose one or the other.
I couldn't navigate through your portfolio... none of the buttons are working for me.
If you want to have your site entirely in Flash, offer a HTML-only version of the site that links from your homepage. A lot of people here are complaining about the loading..
