Hey, been a while since Ive posted my own work,
here is a mech ive been working on, the legs are from an excellent tutorial set from the folks at 3dpalace.com any of you newbies to 3d like me, will cream your drawers when you see the plethora of knowlege to be gained at this site. with that said:

Its not bad for a newbie

although I will say it needs more detail and the mechanics doesn't seem like it would walk very fluently. Everything is so packed together it doesn't seem much room for the mech to be mobile.

Since this doesn’t look like its going to be for a real time game add a lot more geometry to give the illusion of plates-bolts-wires etc. just go crazy with it. You’ll learn more and clock in more time with experience.

3D is just like drawing – only you need poly/nurb mileage vs pencil mileage.

but keep at it, you can only get better with time. (in theory lol

Thanks for the comments guys,
yeah, I feel like the cockpit is too plain as well, but I think it's just the dumb GL render,
Ill get some wire frames as soon as I can. but yeah, this model is not for games, But I do want to animate it.
