Painted up an oldish sketch last night. About 3hrs in total I guess. A bit lazy on the background, but I needed my beauty sleep. Come to think of it I need lots of that. :)

I like the cartoony look, very interesting.

Beautifully painted. Love the technique used.

It might be kinda cute if the little guy had a desk or something. A little setup where the demon comes to get his advice.

Jeff_hritz: Thanks! When I did the sketch I had been looking at kev walkers art. He and Jim Murray are gods at doing cartoony paintings.

NathanLong: LOL :)

MyEvilTwin66: Thanks! In my opinion ther should be no other kind of faeries. If I ever do a faerie it won't be pink. :)

Noah Bradley: Thanks! Good idea. I was wondering if it would be clear who was giving the advice, but you seem to have read it right. :)

Good job on the concept and the painting on the creature, but you need to think about composition more. The leftmost quarter of the image is unnecessary, and the figure is dead center. It looks like the whole image wants to be moved to the left and/or cropped.

Elwell: Thanks!!! I'm aware of those problems.. Have not taken the time to try and solve it. Now that you took the time to point it out, I feel I have to try. Damn you. ;)

[edit:] Mr E says jump, I ask; "How high?" So here we go. I guess it's better. Is it good enough? I dunno. Lots of empty space still.

Nice job old friend - just slap in a dark foreground rockface in the left corner to frame the composition and it´s a wrap.

Oh - and you´re right - you´d neeed a loooot of beaty sleep to be presentable...

In my opinion, you would have been better with a simple crop to remove the empty space on the left. Having the demon towering right over the little guy better emphasized the difference in scale, and I think a portrait aspect might even have pushed it further.

You seem to have lost some orange midtones in the background? Having that slightly different hue back there was helping to pop the demon forward, so I'd consider working that back in, along with some of the brighter values against the silhouette of the rocks which also seem to have gone.

He's a really fun character though. Worth persevering with it..!

Hahaha, "So I says to my brother... you CAN'T go wrong with subprime lending."

Great piece by the way, like the cartoon look and feel.

Ipnorospo: That would look fun. But not quite right for what I had in mind. :)

joe: That's not the way it works. I say something negative about me and you go "Noo you are sooo beautiful. You are just perfect the way you are!" Practise that until next time. :)

Matt Dixon: Well spotted, thanks! Tried to fix it.

Fourth Nail: :) Thanks!

Well here goes. Third times the charm. No more crits please. I'm sooo bloody tired.

Matt: Good to hear. Thanks! You give good feedback. Just like last time I had to spend some time on your web gallery. Eventually you'll be fully assimilated. :)
