Thanks everyone for your submissions, the position has been filled. Mods, feel free to lock this thread.

Hi, I'm the director of The Ottoman, an independent 8-minute animated short inspired by French comics, Japanese mecha and steampunk. My team is looking for a freelance artist to create storyboards to be used as the basis for the animation.

Some of the qualities we're looking for:

1. First and foremost, a cinematic eye. You'll need to be able to create dynamic camera compositions that cut together well.

2. Adaptability. You should be able to match the existing character art style, as well as the project's shot composition/editing rhythm, based on the director's instructions.

3. Excellent communication skills. The ability to understand the script and respond to direction is essential, and you should be able to convey to the team members what you need from them, as well.

4. A reasonable turnaround time.

Interested parties should e-mail me at OttomanProject@gmail.com. To be considered, please include your rates, samples of your work or a link to your portfolio, and your availability.

In accordance with forum rules, please don't post your responses to this thread, since those will just get deleted by the mods. (Requests for clarification/follow-up information are fine.) I'll close the thread once the position is filled.

Yeah, I hear you but you may have hurt your chances at getting the job by not following their rules. I just wanted to point that out to maybe prevent somebody else from shooting themselves in the foot. Though maybe I shouldn't since it might weed out some of the competition. I would like to get this job myself. LOL.

Thanks for submitting, everyone! The position has been filled.

For anyone who sent me their portfolio and didn't get a response, please accept my apologies. I received hundreds of submissions over the last month, and it wasn't possible to reply to them all. I was thrilled with the quality of the work submitted, and I really enjoyed seeing the range of styles and talents out there.

For everyone who wasn't selected, don't worry! I have many more positions to fill over the coming months, and I'll be posting more threads in this forum soon.

To the mods: Please feel free to lock this thread.
