This is a gargoyle I drew that took about 12 hours, 20x30 inches, using a mechanical pencil, .7 lead.

The type draws my eye rather than the image. Do you have a larger version?

Btw you need a new signature brother. 'sigh'

That probably sounded more harsh than I meant it.

This is a strange gargoyle. Like the Arcimboldo (http://www.illumin.co.uk/svank/biog/arcim/arcidx.html) characters...
I vote yes for a larger version :D

Naw josh is right and hes saying that the type is distracting.
Get rid of the type and just post the image. Preferably larger too :)

Heh, I just pulled that image from my portfolio site. I've actually still been working on putting up more detailed pics of a few of my designs. Here's a larger image:

The complexity of the character is interesting. Right now, though, it's all fairly midkey- adding more dark and highlights to suggest light sources would help show more form. Also, if the computer blurred parts were manually drawn in, it would help to hold the piece together- right now the digital blur with the pencil is awkward.

It's my "abstract" technique, using abstract forms to create a uniform image.

I try to follow the human/animal(?) form pretty loosely, thus the "skeleton-like" look. It's not exact, but it's close to a human skeletal system.

I'll put up more stuff that I've done that's more abstract to show you what I mean. This one happens to be more structured than my earlier works. I'm moving towards a more defined technique.

Thanks for comments everyone! Keep them coming!

Great job. Inspired by Joe Mad's Eve Mecha cover, I presume?

Wow, pretty close resemblance but I finished mine in '99. I've never seen that piece before. I like his better!
