Alright. I've been trying to decide wiether or not to start a sketchbook, but I think I'm going to go ahead and do so. I'll only start off with two drawings, as I really have nothing else that is good. But I hope at least someone will enjoy this. Please critique if you want. Anything helps. So, here it goes:

New Sketches for today. Actually, just one. I've been working on it for about a day now, and i like the way it looks. I wanted to go for a sort of Gothic Lolita sort of feel when creating this, and so far, I think it's pretty good, although in my poinion i needs more of a darker feel to it. Any suggestions? Anything is helpful, so post/critique away!:lifedrawing:

I know. How original is that phrase! Just worked on this for the past hour or so. I like the way it looks, what about you? Please, comment away. I need input. It's actually a drawing for a girl who asked me to draw it for her. Hope she likes it. Anyways, critique away!

Eh-hem! Now that that litte joke is over... These are actually drawings from awhile back, and yes, I know, the heads are enormously huge. I'm working on this right now. What I want to know is yiour opinion on the anatomy of things. Is it okay? Is it so-so. Or is i just plain out horrible. Don't be afraid to hold back... please. Otherwise I won't be aware of these things. So, here we go... c&c greatly encouraged:)

Well, I was sitting at my desk last night, just doodling different ideas, and I had the urge to draw something similar to the Galcatic Cruiser from the movie Lilo and Stitch. So cool. It was inked, and then painted with watercolour. Hope you like!

OKay! GOing back to anatomical studies. Wow, it's been so long since I've actually drawn a guy that I forgot how to draw the muscular anatomy. I think I'm gonna take a break from illustration for now and observe for a few days. Thanks to muzzoid and hitnrun for thier suggestions!

You've got a good start to your sketchbook here and I'll say this first (but i'm sure you'll here it more) spend a lot of time working on your life drawing and anatomy studies. Not just a few days but a segment of each day or each time you draw. It will help you improve much faster. But again, nice start and I like how your style stays away from the smooth curves...

WHy thank you. I'm actually hoping I can get to the zoo so I can start to draw some animals. My style is actually a fusion of anime and traditional style animation. Yes, anatomy is a big problem for me, I mean, I know proportions and what not, and the femlae anatomy is pretty much clear to me, but I need to draw more men.

Ok, teh first page (in pink ink) is a study from drama class, in which class I happen to sit in the back. Hence, the people's backs! The facial study is an alto who sits near me in Chorus. We weren't doing much today, so i decided to take a few minutes to draw her and study her face!

Some new stuff. Keep in mind that the facial studies were not done with the person holding still. They were drawn as best as possible!

Well, thanks Sclark. I believe you're refering to caricaturists? Well, haven't updated in awhile so I have a load of stuff to give you. You know I went through my old yearbooks from elementary and middle and my art teachers mentioned that I have sort of have a "natural" talent. You know, I really never did have any lessons, and always pay attention to things around me. I've been freakin tired the past few days. Oh well! Enough chit chat:

Great work, your faces look great but the bodies are a little too cartoonish. Might I suggest going to a store and finding a human anatomy book and doing some anatomy studies to help you fix your figure. Keep up the good work.

Okay, so this time I didn't time my sketches, instead I used the random pose viewer to take some time on the studies. You know, because I wanted them to look real :) And also the first image is a study of Dwayne Johnson and somebody else. Hope you enjoy! Also, I'm looking to improve on the muscular anatomy of my arms. Any good muscular ref of arms?

Just checked out your section for the first time. Looks like you are into the caricature/graffiti type stuff. Keep it going as it looks like you have a unique look. Keep drawing from life and mix it up with the fun stuff and you should be doing fine. Play with perspective on the body/environment also. Just keep at it and rock on!

OK! Sort of taking a break from drawing from life and going getting back to the fun stuff. I have been working on this all day. It's my WIP interpertation of the Joker. I really wanted to stick to cool tones with his face. I didn't want it to be a neutral gray, because it would have character.

So, this time I decided to test myself with my new anatomy studies and draw some things in my style. Mainly the batman. What ya think? Also, some other things!!! Finished the Joker painting! Nevermind. Batman didn't scan :(

Nothing major this time. I've been really tired. Did this with a broken Graphite Barnes and Noble Graphite Stick :( (They break easily!)
Edit: Added a quick sketch. . It's the one with the flowing hair. Now, the problem with my anatomy is my men. And not the figure, but the muscular figure. And I don't have a very defined figure. So, this standing in fron of a mirror thing to look at your muscles thing really isn't helping much. Any suggestions on how to improve muscular anatomy, because I'm driving myself crazy, because I feel like I already know all this stuff. I mean, no offense. But I've been drawing for 12 years!!!!

Ok! Good News! I went online and I purchased a Burne Hogarth anatomy book that I had always wanted, ever since the day somebody muttered the words "draw from life" to me. And now i can study the muscular system. Because women are easy to draw now, it's the men that i have to get down. Poor me. And especially since i draw highly stylized. I don't know, is anyone looking for a pinup artist? Oh, by the way, I have been drawing and doing studies, I just have been busy doing other things and haven't had the time to post. So, in the mean time, take a look around. I don't bite!!!

This is a Beetlejuice painting I'm working on. I used to watch this movie all the time when I was a wee little boy. And then this memory popped into my head. So.... it's a WIP.

Okay, just a few minor things that I have worked on the past few months! I've been sick (no, not with the piggy sickness) but just sick in general! And so, during this time, I learned to feel how I draw, not following a whole bunch of rules. It has made me love drawing and painting so much! So now, I just draw what I feel. Yay!

I can see that you have some basic idea of what structure is.......but you really need to push it to the limit, I mean scratch the paper more and more, till you get that correct gesture, then keep sketching the structure and only after this begin with the details, this way you won't have proportion issues.

Well, anyways, don't really have a bunch of new stuff. I've recently recovered what seems to have been a huge bout of depression, which is why those last few drawings were a bit crazy... but now I'm ok again, and I'm back to drawing normal! The crazy castle thing was just a product of boredom. As for the anatomy of the lady, critique away!!! (and uhh, I'll have to figure out how to downsize her too..)

Ahh, yes. Not a very big update. Just two drawings. The one tower type thing took alot of crosshatching! The other one with the alien is my take on Invader Zim. Yeah, that's right, I'm the only Zim fan that didn't copy Vasquez! (that's an artist joke). See ya soon!

Hey folks. What's up? I've been busy with a lot of school lately, so I have had trouble finding free time to draw. But I managed to get a few sketches here and there. My favorite one has to be Optimus Prime. Mainly because this kid bet me twenty bucks that I couldn't draw a transformer within 5 minutes. I did it in four. Which allowed me to buy Pins! Yay! :D

Just a few sketches I decided to do trough boredom. I had a little spare time before school starts and I have to finish assignments, so yeah... The armor dude is a techno suit. They're an alien, robotic race that are completely symbiotic. They cannot survive without a host. So, the good dudes come to Earth after they find out a supreme general from the bad guys' armies has taken control of of a world leader. You know, very rough, but something to think about.
