Ive been having trouble with my gradient tool in photoshop CS3. Heres two images to specify my problem. On the second, I meant to have a really light red to gradate into the neutral red thats in the first image. Please help.
Sorry for the large images.

Make sure that the gradient style is set correctly to get the results you're looking for. In the attachment I circled the area you want to look at. You'll get different effects; the first will give you a gradient using your chosen background and foreground colors; the second will give you a gradient using your foreground color transitioning to a transparent. Hope this helps!

So what's the problem? You only want the light red to be in that small corner only & are disliking the harsh transition to black?

Try filling your BG layer with the main color you wish to use then just do a to-transparent gradient of the lighter red.
