Haven't posted in a Dog's Age. Been busy doing freelance concept work for Turbine (working with the amazing Marc_Taro), but I was able to squeeze these 2 out during small free moments. Let me know what you guys think!

Dig the critter. The wizard is good. I can tell that there was much time and effort taken on the part of the wiz, however, the critter looks like there was much more love involved. All and all, nice work.

Oh yeah! I really like your second piece.
The first one's cool, but I dont like the treatment of the bg. I would have liked to see it more painterlye and organic. As opposed to the outlineyish style thats going on there.
Great pieces never the less. :)
Post more if you have em.

Sean- I have to agree with the others, the green guy has a great liveliness to him, you need to pull some of that energetic rendering into your more finished work.
in the first one, I really like the wizard, the patterns are wonderful. I always like to see them in fantasy work as they imply the character comes from a culture that has an existence of it's own.
Post some of that Turbine work when they let you!

The first one is good, I like the clothing design, but something about the BG scale strikes me as odd...as if this wizard is thirty feet tall. Maybe its the size of those trees or bushes.
I love the 2nd one though, the face is brilliant. The bottom half of the character isnt quite as strong, but no matter - it still adds up to a fun little painting.

lol - I really like that little tree in the corner...It's like the Pulsing Persimmon of Yog Sothoth...
My crit - desaturate, and loosen up! That's probably personal preference not a real crit but there ya go...

Thanks for the comments guys!
Chukw - Twisted: maybe, genius......WITHOUT QUESTION! (kidding). Thanks though.
Nucleardan - How could you not love a face like that?
I.was.Ink - Thank you. I will keep your comment regarding the bg in mind.
bwkeough - Yeah, I fluctuate between tightness and looseness depending on my mood. Sometimes I am working reallly really tight and the entire piece suffers from inconsistency, and other times I work way too loose and the piece looks sloppy. Gotta find that delicate balance!
Blackarts - I guess they were intended to be little bushes, or sapling trees, but I could perhaps make them more bush-like. Thanks!
marc_taro - Haha! I think next I will illustrate the Beer Cozy of Yog Sothoth. Thanks for the crit. Ttyl!
