This is a try at painting from scrath in Photoshop, I haven't done a lot of that and envy the ones who are really good at it. :bash:

Looks great to me! I would say you look like an old pro based on this image! Keep it up!
The only crit would be that I think you need to separate the character in the foreground from the rock that is behind him, perhaps with some deeper shadows or more contrast....
Also, you might want to have his eyes looking up more. Right now, it looks like he is looking at something else as opposed to the guy who is about to attack him. Now, maybe your idea was that the creature in the foreground hasn't noticed that guy yet and that he is focusing on something else in front of him, but in that case the fact that he has his weapon raised looks like he is preparing for attack, so if he is preparing for an attack on a different character who is off-screen, that is a bit confusing.
Hope that helps.

Hey the image looks great. I do have one comment though. The left leg of the warrior at the top of the image seems to be facing the wrong way, i think it would be more natural to have it turned with his toes pointing to the left of his body not facing ahead like the front leg. When i say left leg i mean from that warriors perspective, his left leg, not left in the picture. Other than that it looks fantastic, i wish i could do it.

you're too modest buddy, because personally, that image looks great! And I agree with the other poster, it looks like a pro's work :chug:
The only thing I'd change is the upper guy's cloak, it looks... weird.
