Hey Meta

Well the concepts seem to be sound enough but I don't think your painting is the issue here.

If you are going to begin with line art I say you go all the way with it, I am assuming these are all unfinished and you are simply experimenting without too much time being consumed but I say you take both of these characters as is, go back to the line work and seriously polish them up.

Your texture and light seems to be bang on in the paintings but it looks like you don't know where to go from there and I think that if you had alot more to work with in terms of that line art.

good thought man, i havent really given thought to cleaning up the lines, that might make it more interesting, sort of like brasshorsekiller does
