all of these were mostly done in painter using Androids technique( order from chaos, shape sifting, patterns galore, and a helluva lot of philosophical thinking!:) haha

sorry for the lower size/quality, I didn't have time to put em up individually... you can see them higher rest at my deviantart gallery.

thanks for looking!

The jesus and nightmare ones are freaking incredible. You have a very cool style, like controlled chaos, which is pretty hard to pull off. And talk about detailed! Great job.

these are really cool!

You are using Andrew Jones techniques, but your work is able to stand on its own two legs, which is a very nice thing to see.

cheers man!

I second archipelago's comment. Has Jones's influences but definitely your own style. I really like the ship.

I really like the ones where you took Andrew's technique and made it function within your own style (the ship is a good example). A lot of them, however, basically look like an attempt to replicate Andrew's work- rather than making his ideas a part of your own style.

Keep at it. Good stuff!

You are on the way!
I voted four stars, and before peope get all hoity-toity about it, I will explain why:

You have started something good here, but you are in the beginning. The beginning of your own style that is!
You need to define it more and develop your style.
This is why I gave four stars- to prod you to do more, better, practice. I really like what I see and cannot do anything like this, but I really want you to take this as I intend it:
Excellent work, now practice, become the master!

This stuff is frickin' amazing. I've been a fan of Jones for a long time and it's cool to see his technique applied successfully by someone else. The Jesus one is amazing. It may become my desktop for a while. lol. Would you mind?

Cheers!

Im kind of torn with these. As incredible as a lot of these are as works of art, a lot of them just seem to be Android's works of art, not your own. A few of them you did branch out and do some things that andrew doesn't, like the 4th and 6th. In those, you did use his brush techniques in a totally different way. Unfortunately, a lot of them do seem just like Andrew Jones pieces down to the style, composition and even his color schemes.

I think if you keep going with this but try to avoid being a lesser Android, you can do some amazing things as you've already shown.

Personally I haven't seen to many people use his techniques and keep the work looking original. I quote this because you did just that. To me, Its great artwork that shows a direct influence of a popular artist, but you tired your own ways to apply it. To my knowledge the techniques are pretty specific so it has that extra difficulty to keep the individuality. I give you credit for putting your own flare to it, and experiment.

well here's anothe vote for being on the fence. Some of them dont seem to carry your own style as well as others. That said, i think you are working towards something good, and that is your own. keep it up, thats for damn sure. :)

i have no mo-fo**ing idea why you just have 4 stars... You're stuff is incredible, and your absolutely one of my biggest influences and inspirations.

I follow your stuff on DA, haven't commented on a lot since it feels like the any comment over there is going to be over looked, but i'm very happy you posted here.

Me and my brother are both using the hellbird image as our wallpapers.. And I've considered getting prints aswell but I've been waiting since i'm been 'gathering' bookmarks from a few artists on DA, so I can order everything at once.

Well.. have 5 stars from me of course.. and I reallllly hope you keep posting! I love those.

Its very good.*

But, to be honest, I disagree with the others. I think its very very close to Android's work. At this point, art directors are going to hire you for being a less expensive Android rather than being an awesome Tarrzan.

*I'm not just saying this to mollify you before the critique, I do actually think its well done.

Cool pics, although as many people have already mentioned "ANDROID". Imagine if your name wasn't on some of these, I would totally think Android produced them. In the future you should try to incorporate your own style a little more. Nothing wrong with having influences, but try to keep that aspect of it to a minimum when producing your own work. (my opinion)

hola, and thanks everybody for your comments and critiques.

all in all, this is is a technique I'm experimenting with, as Android encouraged, and it's definitely a liberating way to create art, which is why I'm so attracted to it:)

here's a couple more,:),,thanks for looking!

well. Of course your stuff is interresting...

Now I would like to say that Android's technique, although it opens wide the doors of creation and productivity, is based (from what I understood) on a lot of previous experimentations, influences, references AND cultural stuff, that made the guy what he is.

it's not only like using the same brand of painting, or the same camera, or... than someone who leads the way. The technique is part of the fella. The principle behind it is very cool and clever (seen his Boss monster DVD and I loooved it), but then he turns it into something very personal with his crazy strokes. The creation of the stroke is interresting. What he does with it is funky. But that's also the point where one should find his own way with it.

You're using similar shapes, paterns, composition tricks, colour schemes and subjects, so it becomes obvious; too obvious.

Since you're refering to him many times in the post it is very honnest and humble, so I'm not going to say it's a bad thing. Your stuff also shows that you know how to work on a composition, so i'm looking forward to see what you come up with when you'll have fully assimilated the technique and turned it into something else.

MORE GENERARLY. I find in this forum a great source of motivation and inspiration, but I think we should, more than ever, be careful on how we use those references.
People tend to rush to one's style a bit too fast to my taste. This does not only happen with Android, speed painting is a very good exemple too.
DO NOT REDO. DO. Although everything's been done already. hahaha... sic.
