If its not already obvious... I'm a video game nut! This guy is from FFVII and he happens to be my most favorite bad guy of all time. Sephiroth is just evil! Anyway, did this one for a drawoff on another site. I did pretty good... I won. :) I colored this using Photoshop before I knew how to keep my line art... I guess it came out pretty good. I hate coloring. There's a few minor flaws but i'm pretty happy with the way it came out.

I think that you have too much detailed the flames in the foreground, compared to the rest of the picture.
I think you could work more on the background, because the photoshop effect don't give depth to it.
And finally the reflections of the flames on his armor, are a bit too dark...
After those critiques, I have to say that it's very good you already masterize your lines and it's very motivated for the future.

UHUHU Lensflare...;) Arts worst enemy!..
No, but I think you did it to heavy when you made it to dark. Perhaps using another brighter palette and to ditch the darkest outlines would make it so much better.
The background could be more like dark fiery smoke instead of the brownish fog you got now.
I like the posture and the dynamics in the picture though. The fact that the flames seem to flow to one direction and the hair to another makes it feel more like turbulence, as it would be amongst flames like that.
Although fire is wery hard to depict and to take the fact that the subject doesnt always need to be made realisticly to match the theme or the thought, I think you did quite well..
Cheers

Hey, thanks for the great comments guys! Ugh, i know the lense flare is aweful. I tried to make it not so noticable. I was trying to get an effect without using one and it wasn't working so I threw one in there. BAH! >_< I see whatcha mean about the flames and whatnot... this is why I don't color very often. I'm much better with just a box of prisma colors! :D Me and Photoshop DO NOT get along.
Anyway, thank you again!
