I like the atmosphere you created, and the basic modelling. I have just one critique, the water is too clean for me, add some noise as a kind of texture to it and i think you'll get the water looking great. Also the boat side needs some age, apart from that the whole scene looks great man.

OH ya the boat and water look wicked!....just keep the detail level all the way up the paddle and your looking sharp!.

I think everything is great except I don't really like the sky. The island is lit in such a way that I would expect a bright sky, however the sky turns out to be pretty dark seems flat, like a bunch of smoke is rising from the island. Everything else besides that is cool, nice detail work, nice perspective, etc.
