This is for a New Years flyer I'm doing - pretty simple idea, robo-girl with energy coming out of her head...
This is a rough, just wanted to test the idea, the final would prb'ly have a lot more of her body and bground.

she's got a wee bit of the brian williams, of msnbc, nose. the perspective on her nose is off, it should show less of the left nostral.

dont over do it, i love the rawness, you could increse the contrast to give the light more energy. some subtle highlights coming from the energy on the upper lip and lye lids would be cool too,
great stuff

jrr - right on I didn't even see that. fixed as advised, I'll be sure to keep my eye on it until it's done.
imzadione - not much like that, you're totally right. A friend had to point out that it was totally depressing. He said it makes him feel like "my new years resolution is to not wake up the next day".
Android - I'm really glad you said that. I am enjoying it this loose a lot and want to do more like it. I'll see how loose they let me keep it this year... could be a nice new look. I'll throw some contrast adjustment layers on it to fool around and see if it needs a jumpstart. Thanks for the tip...
Anyway, here's an update - I think she needs a smile still. I tried for SO long to get one that looks good, UGH - anyway:http://www.dropship1.com/art/NY04_Test2.jpg

I hate to say it, but I like the tone of the first one a bit more. I didn't find it all that depressing really... but - if you were looking to make it more cheery you might just put the colors of the bg from the second version behind the figure in the first. (ie- brighter space behind the head giving an almost angelic look).
Android mentioned 'energy' and I think that the first version had more in it. I'm not certain, but I think that it has to do with the second version not having as much 'overall' contrast.
Hope that helps. Damn fine image if you ask me.

oh this is looking good. i agree that the first mood fits better to the piece. and her nose is still a bit off in the second one, i think it could be a tad more to the right (her left).
