View Full Version : DSG 1410: Sci-Fi • COMBAT DROID IS MAGNE-FLOATED GUNNERY W/IN ADAPTABLE LIMB MATRIX

[ So, this thing is a small arsenal that floats within a scaffolding of robotic locomoting extensions. ]
[ It's probably relatively small-ish, on par with a large human, for implementation within human-readied environments. ]
[ The magnetic repulsor system allows for super stability and orienting speed of the gun elements... ]
[ ...Plus, it looks interesting, hopefully. ]

here's this thing I did.
the centre head thing spins around in the ring that's attached to the legs which has a magnetic field.

I suppose you could say the limb matrix is adaptable if it can be switched out on the fly during deployment...
Anyways, this is what I envisioned scooting around a facillity during a security breach.

Heh, I think that this fits the description... but I don't think I demonstrated it very well.
The "limbs" pop out of the shell.
Each segment (shaped as a scale) is magnetized and armed with its own lazers, held together by its magnetized core.
I just liked the endless combinations of attached segments and movable parts.

Gimp 2 and Wacom. 5-6 hours from which about half was used just to think what I should draw instead of actually drawing.
I'm not that satisfied with it. But whatever. Meh. I was planning to draw legs at first but then I went extra scifi and added more and more floating parts.
I like the lightnings and glowing spikes between the hull and magnetic hover, float, teal blingbling, somethings...

Pictured with M-4 for scale! Particle beam weapon! Who wouldn't want to harness the power of lightning! Of course, real electron guns would look very different, and not as visually interesting (your older TV or computer monitor is an electron gun essentially... Just not as powerful!).

goran Beautiful design. Photoshop? Which brush did you use for the lines?
Kamikaye Whoa! wouldn't like that stuff flying towards me!
Filter Nice idea with the way it moves. Must be very smooth when it does
EBrown Nice turret, does it fly?
Giraffics That thing looks an unbeatable, incomprehensible enemy
Arbinn That's huge, are those rockets, legs or both?
Brett_Schmidt Can't quite see what is going on here, but looks maybe more organic than mechanic
prepsage Original thinking on the topic. Thanks.
Sudsy Does it sit on the floor or float? Is it stationary?
lkjhgfdsa It's between you and goran for my favourate. Love the cogs and the dangerous hands
And here is mine, 2 hrs 30 mins in Photoshop.

"Arbinn That's huge, are those rockets, legs or both?"
They're supposed to be hovering legs which stay near the hull with some electrical stuff... x)
goran Just plain awesome. I like the colours. Though the blasts look a bit lifeless.
Kamikaye I like the hovering scifi- design. The lighting looks good. A bit more polishing would make it better.
Filter It looks threatening. :P I'd like to know how big it is.
EBrown Nice sketch. It really looks like it could patrol places like a guard.
Giraffics I like the design but the work is too blurred.
Brett_Schmidt It really looks like a trumpet to me. :D Interesting design.
prepsage Whoa! O_O
Sudsy No offence. It looks like a lightning spear weapon from Stargate between two buns. ^^ But it's not a bad thing. :)
lkjhgfdsa Another one of those "WHOA!"- pictures. Looks really robotic. Nice.
JackAnimated Looks very stylish. What are those things on sides? The ones which look like hollow boxes.
R13 Cool pencil sketch! It's actually VERY close to my original design. :D I just planned to have hovering legs right from the beginning.

um... they were going to be barrels of guns I think, but I like the idea they are now loud speaker megaphones "HALT CITIZEN!"
