I have several graphic novel projects in development as a freelance writer. I have a variety of ideas, characters and storyboards in development and I am looking for people to bring my visions to life and produce concept art and pilots of my ideas.
The main two projects currently evolving hurriedly towards the final stages are a re-working of my only comic book love ... that is Batman. It is particularly bleak and macabre with themes taken from George Orwell, Erewhon and Catch-22 amongst other texts.
My original story is a horror thriller based on true events. Essentially it follows a characters descent into madness and I'll mental health (influenced by first hand family experiences of manic depression). This allows the exploration of various horrific images as the main character has living nightmares based on the most macabre of all trials (true story) which he is reporting upon.
I don't want to give too much more away. I will pay negotiable fees for individual scenes and or characters which I will lay out to anyone interested. Providing that the work is of a suitable standard I am willing to pay around $15 per page / scene after viewing and accepting. Should anyone impress, up to around $500 is available for future work on other scenes over the next months. Hopefully this will then expand and so on after December towards completing first drafts and moving forward.
I am returning to England to start my P.h.D. at Cambridge University thus communications will be by post and internet though I am willing to work with anyone from anywhere.
