hi guys,
I'd like to present some character concepts for my personal project. I'm working on it in a spare time, so you probably understand it isn't moving too quickly.
Anyway I hope you like the designs and it will be pleasure to post more in the nearest future.
greetings!

nice charaters, its easely to tell who they should behave and what kind of personallity they would have, except for the third one :s

really nice! :asspat:
the only crit is it seems a bit like two directions - 1st and 2nd vs. 3rd and 4th - dunno they just have a slightly different style imo... :\

I like it. Gotta disagree with you Mr.M. I think the concept is well carried out through all of the them.

Great characters! Love the metal detail work on the Metal Arms guy.
May I ask what sort of brushes are you using? Is it Photoshop? I've been using painter, but recently I've been toying with switching over and playing around. Not sure where to get started. I can't get things to blend in a painterly style.

wonderful work. I love the head studies. They have a lot of range and are rendered very well. I also really like the metal arm dude.

These are really fantastic. I love the colors, textures, everything. If anything, my only complaint would be that the Mad Scientist is a bit stereotypical. He reminds me a lot of the scientist from the Nightmare Before Christmas crossed with the villains from Dark City. Still, beautifully rendered.

Wow, I love your character designs very orginal, and I love your use of cooler colors, it gives it a gritty feel, in a good way not a bad way.

Thanks guys!
I'm glad you like it. It ensures me, that making my own project isn't a waste of time.

I'm not a master of brushes and sliders. I usually use two or three really plain brushes (hard round for example + some texture from the default panel), and in this case used some texture in soft light blending mode over the whole image.
If you want to achieve this specific oil painting colour transition that you know from painter you'd probably not find it in photoshop. Maybe there are some trick techniques to make it look like oil painting, but I didn't discover any (besides the finger painting that gives not exact results).
