One of the better pieces I've worked on... albeit not the best compared to others, I can safely say that I've learned something

tobbA: Like the cool camera shutter style eyes.

Nothing Really Exists: The form is kind of hard to read and I think the robot parts could have been defined stronger. I like the segmented tail.

Ninjerina: A stronger distinction between mechanical and robot could help. Maybe using different colours or brush strokes. The face is very menacing.

NeecHMonKeY: Fun idea and nicely done.I like the use of the brush for the compound eyes.

Sudsy: The mechanical parts look more like armour. Is armour classed as mechanical? I guess it is designed to perform a function. :) I like the choice of an ant.

Burrito: Is that a giant elephant beatle? :) Nice unique design.

I guess I should have made the army ants mandible enhancements much more clear... I must admit, I did minimize the cybernetic enhancements too much and barely kept within the specifications...

Woops! I'm a little later than usual.

Thanks for the topic Will. B. Hand.

tobbA Very nice pencil work.
NothingReallyExists A bit undefined, but I can see nice sides of shapes in there.
Ninjerina I like what you did on the eyes, but as a whole, could do with stronger shadows and highlights
NeecHMonkeY A little more illustrated looking than your usual stuff, but not a bad thing a all
Is that armor on the insect? Nice idea, could be made clearer with more striking reflections in the metal
[B]burrito Really nice work with clear shapes, and first one standing like a man
Munin Raven Wow!. Even the BG is awesome. Keep it up
goran Beautiful beautiful piece. So smooth looking, Lovely.
PlasmaErnst Love the palette, but where are the mechanical parts?
FunnyFace Nice painting, but again, I don't see mechanical parts
erniesthings Ha! Great idea. Made me smile. Thanks.
killacaravagio Seems out of focus on the body and in focus with lines on the legs and "eyes". Try keeping it consistent
dan liimatta Just noticed the giant cog in it's back. Great work as usual Dan
Farquad Very clear drawing. Would love to see it with colour
klesk33 My fav from this round. This is the end of a story. The legs are amazing.
tokuku Good, but where are the organic parts?
Mitze I really like the human-esk form to this
lkjhgfdsa Cool. Like Starship Troopers all over again. I like it!
Tommoy That is one evil queen. Brilliant!

Hope my critiques are received well.

Here is my lowly entry;

I thought about the function.

The rhino beetle has been modified to light cigarettes.

It walks around the bar waiting to do it's job.

I think fantasy doesn't have to be about killing, well not directly anyway.

DSG #2! Hooah!

Anyhoo :)

I went for beetle but it ended up being too turtle-ish. I didnt look at anyones post till after I did this one and I am very sad at how easy you guys make it look!

Oh well its all about keeping at it and learning!

Well I went for some hatching practice on this one and I enjoyed it.
