Hello there! I've finally decided to post a little bit of my work after lurking around for a bit. Just seeking to get to know some fellow artists and possibly some constructive criticism if anyone is willing to offer any. :)

Judging from your stuff, you have a better grasp on proportions than I do.

The second piece is probably the best of the three. Why such thick outlines on the first one?

To be honest, I'd probably eliminate those outlines now that I begin to look at it more, I really had no motif behind it. Perhaps I got caught up in some kind of horrible interpretation of Art Nouveau due to the fact I was jet-lagged when I drew that on a 48 hour flight. The reference for it was stolen from a Cirque du Soleil advertisement I saw in an in-flight magazine.

i like your third piece.
the eyes don't look quite right because they are not at an equal distance from the bridge of the nose, and as far as i can tell this is a straight on view of the face.
however i find that the delicate lines of the folds and the heavy shading from within her hood makes it appealing.
by no means am i an expert on hands as i am also struggling with them, but something i found that helped recently was to study anatomical charts of hands (the ones i use are from peck's atlas of human anatomy for artists) and also to keep in mind their vast flexibility. oh and reference and studying from life helps too.

Ah, I see what you mean with the facial proportions, I'll see if I can tweak the sketch a bit to see if I can get the eyes/nose corrected.
Hands are my greatest tool and my greatest enemy. I'll definitely be doing some more studies of them in the near future. (a.k.a. when I finally get caught up with a weeks worth of homework.)
