Hey Folks, I recently posted a thread with some work (here: http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=135797), but after alot of though decided to start a new one for this piece of shameless self promotion :)

This is a piece that I created alone for the purpose of making it into a print for the nice folks at Rotopolpress.

I hope you digg it.

The gyclee prints are signed and numbered, limited to 50.
-UltraChrome print on Hahnemühle cotton rag paper
-paper size: 23,4 x 16,5 inch (A2)
-picture size: 21 x 12 inch

Like it a lot Nic, great mood and colours, and the subject matter is right down my alley. Makes me smile a little as you've captured the feel that he's a tricky back-stabbing bastard. I never found a huge amount of difference between the personalities of Wotan and Loki.

Love the textures and style.
However I do not think the pink scribble adds anything to the piece, and does not mesh with the subject matter or the style. Scribbles and such things are usualy more approporiate for graphic designy paintings.

Also the giant size of the chopped off head diminishes the magnitude of the main character.

Amazing work though, love the arm tension.

Whats a modern kitchen knife doing in the scene btw? Did he poke out his eye with it?

The texture and the colors are simply delicious. I feel the placement of his foot is a little odd - I can't tell very easily *where* it is...up against his crotch? Behind him? Part of the confusion may be the result of the value being about the same, and possibly the tangent of the edge of his foot and his crotch...maybe? Still fabulous.

Pavel - "scribbles and such things are usually more appropriate for graphic designy paintings"? says who? and also since when does the word "appropriate" come into play when doing art? ;) The giant size head is actually the head of the giant Mimir...thats why its big. and kitchen knife...just coz I felt like painting a kitchen knife. :) And yes he did poke his eye out, he gave his eye to drink of said giants well, to be able to see the future....
