Just some character ideas that i'm working on at the moment.

I like the second character :)
the woman has an ambigious pose... she's seductive, except that she's holding a sword before her for some reason... I don't know what you plan to express.
the third one is a nice idea, but it could use a bit better composition, I think.
the impressive skull-like hill and both figures are in the right half of the image, making it a bit busy there. but I'm a complete beginner at such things, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Hi!

I like your quicky at the bottom, and I think the guy with the tusks is absolutely bull's eye! His expression and the way he holds his little sword tell it all, it's great.
The lady needs some work though - she as the cutest little nose, but her ear 's positioned a bit too high it seems, and there's something strange going on in her torso - maybe some lack of definition... What sort of clothing is that that she's wearing? I'd say tunic, but it fits too tightly and there's no folds - but I doubt she's wearing a bathing suit either.
It also looks like she's not wearing a bra, for some reason. (Not that she's not entitled to do so if she wants, she looks like the feminist type of woman to me...)
And either her arm's a bit thin and short, or else her trunk is quite big - are you going to make her as cartoony as the guy with the tusks or will she be more realistic? You might try drawing her top-to-bottom, with feet and all - that should give us a better idea.

Are these characters going to star in a comic, or what? I can so see that happening...!

the VICTOR pic: the simple geometric tears don't suit the pic, the position of the text could be better too - it makes the bottom part busy, and why to hide the robot legs? but the drawing itself is lovely, I'd like to see this robot colored... I like all of the other drawings too...

I emailed you two days ago dude, and i've been working on a comic for the last two months and trying to be husband and dad at the same time, it's crazy stuff.Nearly finished my 4 page draft, it's for a competition for a graphic short story. just finishing the colour then effects and speech bubbles and then i'll send it off. Mate that's looking really cool. As someone who reads waaaaaaaay to many comics, some of the frames don't have enough detail in the back ground to make it visually stimulating all of the time. Having more dramatic light and shadow whould help lift the frames as well.

Hello all, having ago at modeling,rigging and skinning in max at the mo so i thought i'd set this scene. Using partical systems for the snow and also adding more snow in photoshop, the model is very low polly and you have to start somewhere so i used an easy subject as a robot to give it ago

Looking good Darren! Great to see you are still working away at your stuff. There's a good sense of depth in these and I like sharpness of the silhouettes in the foreground in both. I think you could push the colours in the second image - it feels a little muddy, but overall they're really cool.

new digital paints, i'm really enjoying myself at the moment with painting,
thing is trying to paint anything technical is hard and difficult to do it's a case of trial and error. Anyway i've made some changes to my si-fi sniper
on colour but again i'm still playing with lighting and composition and i apologise for any spelling mistakes that may occure during this message :carnifex:

awesome stuff! would be interested in seeing your process, your drawings have very little in the way of construction showing

your colours aren't quite on the same level as your pencils, but that's just practice I think

Thanks for your comments, with construction lines the more you draw the less you depend on them i still use these lines but less and less as you improve try it yourself just draw something straight from your head without relaying on construction lines. Some good pencil studies in your work keep drawing dude

The latest updates look really good, Darren. With the Star Wars pic I like how you've used strong silhouettes to describe the asteroids (and to a certain extent) the Tie-fighter. The Millennium Falcon feels aesthetically different - more illustrative than the other elements - so I'd recommend maybe being a bit more suggestive with the details and also getting some more of that green light hitting its upper surfaces so that it feels more rooted in the picture. I really like how you've suggested the surface of the rocks. Very nice.

I did this painting just as a test to use the line tool, pressing shift and then painting the line. Then it developed into this scene from starwars. So I just bloked out the image, then added detail, lighting,more colour and then lastly effects. We all work in different ways there is no set way to do things it's a case of trying to see what fits :)

Thank you for your kind comments :) All the paints I do at the momment have a sc-fi look and feel to them so keeping with the same style it's just a case of editing them together and making some sort of sence out of um :). It's a 4 pager so the other pages still need a little work and new additional paints to go in were I need them.
