I'd love to see him chop off his arm or head and bleed all over the canvas.

Okay, sorry, my bad.

mmmm, masochist painters.

I disagree with his idea that modern art has died, it's just become slow and devoid of anything original. the chapman brothers can go fuck themselves though.

Pft.

How about this, he paints a picture by forcibly using the blood of a random spectator? Now that'd be a "war on mass culture".

Unless he's using a gallon of blood, or more, this couldn't be more cliche.

How emo.

I would think someone is either emo or not.
I just don't know though, I think it might depend on how much blood they use, and if it's theirs or a starving dogs'.

how many hues can you get with blood anyways, will it have to be layered like watercolors or will it be like a drawing with crosshatching ?

I'm not the one making work with blood, so not emo.
And I hope he drains the entire 4 liters from his own blood in one go. It'll be his last work that way.

it's my opinion too.
and if it's the most original idea he has, his art must be boring.
I searched a tiny bit, but I found no works. it seems he's seeking for some attention from the world...

1. LOL at the emo comment. We're in forum full of artists. We're all emos.

2. I think this would actually have been a good idea, but I have seen what happens to blood when you use it for paint and it dries. Not that I've tried it. Not really. But case in point, it's not pretty. Better off just using paint. Why not mix the blood with paint? Wonder how that will turn out.

3. As for the "attention seeking" comments, isn't that what political statements are? He did say he was declaring a war on.. something. Too lazy to scroll up.

I hate performance art. What I hate more is people doing something extreme in order to get attention.

If this is not a hoax, and that's a big if, let me reason this out... He's going to "sell" this piece, ...to protest capitalism... Isn't capitalism all about making a buck on suckers by getting them to buy something they ordinarilly wouldn't? So he's anti-capitalism but he's part of the capitalist system?

...Okay... right...
