First post on DSG :) It's a bit cartoony... but the idea was spirits escaping the hair.

With the hair being alive, this unique gothic woman can have full control of her hair growth, its senses, and its movement. It can be used for both good and evil... which path did she choose?
Naturally, the curiosity kills the cat, she chose. What she has chosen is not to be revealed... only YOU can associate and experience the movement.
(I hope I succeed in this goal! ;) Feedbacks would be very much appreciated!)
1.5 hours? I don't know... photoshop.

Yeah, Medusa is the first idea that struck me too, but I decided to keep it pretty simple. 30 minutes or so...

I was inspired and I know I can do it, but not in a few hours... I cropped the legs because they are even more rushed than the hands and the skirt :( I definitely will continue this drawing, with a better face ;)
http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh287/shiNIN666/gfx/shinin_gothic.jpg
[EDIT:
it's not an excuse, but I did my pic in the late evening, I was very tired, I drew the face in the end and I rushed it. if I'm careless, I'm able to do such a messed up face. I'm a bit shocked and sorry for showing this thing...]
Tommoy: I though of animals only, but you're right, plants are living too ;) your pic has a very nice mood, I like it a lot!
Gumish: I got a big smile :D funny idea, lovely scene on the head, the woman isn't gothic at all though (and has a much lower quality level than her hair)
Crylar: another plant idea :) the right hand and the hair part it holds are lovely, the other parts are more or less sketchy... what bothers me the most:
1. the plant and the hair has not much connection. I suspect they must have connected only from the topic, not from the picture... they're not totally different, but the hair is not so long the girl could hold it this way. so it's a much holder and very different strand of hair. not believable.
2. the left hand... its size has no relation to the reality, ouch! it's painfully short. the longest fingertips are where the wrist should be.
DefiledVisions: [WARNING: it will be a highly subjective opinion]
this pic is very different for your last DSG entry, but the impact it does to me is a bit similar. a bold idea (at least for a quick dsg sketch), colors I find very pleasing and while there are things I don't really like, your entry is so refreshing, because so different and fabulous... the current one is much better than the previous one, not too sketchy, and it reminds me to some nice children's book illustration and when I say this, it always means a praise, I forget about other things and enjoy the little world the picture creates... colors has a great role in this. I suspect I'm exceptionally sensitive to them. and your recent color choices are very compatible with my taste, it seems ;)
I don't say it's sooo good, I dunno, I just feel this way.
[end of confession ;)]
I don't see this woman would be gothic, though.
arutea: wow :) good idea, expression, linework! it's my fav quality wise.

Missed a few DSGs, school is back and everything, but I realized that if I didn't participate to every DSG, I'd eventually just stop, so I wiped the dust off my Wacom and decided to do each of those I missed, starting from this one.
A little quickie (That still turned out to take an hour and a half or two)
The coloring is a bit static and anatomy isn't perfect but I'm still quite satisfied with the result.

klortho, I love your pic. My favorite so far. Both good concept and well-made, stylish, moody, confident, eye-catching, very human-like(what people here are loosing), and, ha-ha, it perfectly fits the topic (now I wonder when there'll be, like, a postmodern woman with smth.?). To be short it's totally cool!
One technical detail. It needs a basic background or, at least, an outline. See, you have a huge black spot on perfectly white background and it doesn't look like a finished composure. It makes things look harmonic when everything has a reflection, a shadow, something of similar nature, so pure black on pure white is a noise, a chaotic thing.
