I'm shopping for a painting machine. I've been using an HP laptop connected to a big monitor and it's just fine, even for fairly large images (3000 by 5000).

But I have to give this machine back to its rightful owner and I've gotten used to its diminutive size. The Mac Mini would be perfect for me but I'm not sure if it's fast enough.

The current totl is an Intel 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo and 2 gigs RAM. Does anyone have experience with one of these and CS3?

Thanks in advance,

Ted

For 900$ without a display? Why not get a laptop?

edit: it didn't occur to me until just now you said you had a display haha Even so, I could still probably find you a laptop that will be better for that price, plus you get the added ability of it.. being a laptop. I'll see what I can't do either later tonight or tomorrow, but otherwise I'm swamped with physics work.

Thanks Adam, but I actually like the fact that the mini has no screen and keyboard, that's how it's able to be SO small. The less computer in my life the better. I just need to know if it's powerfull enough to paint on.

Is it powerful enough? Absolutely.

Do I think you'd still be better off with a more powerful laptop? Yes.

But if you've got your eyes set on it then go for it. It's got all you need to paint with. :)
