How is much of architecture is artistic skill and how much is mathematics?
Cause I changed schools, from studying mathematics to study art, only to find out that "When applying to the architectural program it is desirable to have completed matriculation exams from a mathematic program."
I'm not too happy with those news.

You definitely have to know calculus to do architecture. Im not sure how much of it is art either. More like space management.

geomatry is pretty much a givin but
calculus is a must if your doing strutural calcs, or heat transfer crap
but even then there pretty simple.
structures class problems are generaly all balanceing the sum of forces/torque
like everything else in architecture the more you know of the feilds involved the better your product is.. but genereally if it takes to much time (ie. stutural clacs) you take a best guess and then sub out the check work to a engineer..
in school however its one of the few subjects that can be messured and tested accuratly so it can wreck havok with a GPA, though studios tend to do that to you anyhow
as to how much is art and how much is math, it's really up to your niche, high end residnces can be extreemly artisitic
while low end offices spaces are often done "prefab" with a set of components and modular furniture.
being and architect is knowing and planning everthing involved to make the best product
design is only one asspect of this, and usually the first thing sacrificed
