The project assigned in my 3D Design class was as follows:

You will be given one hundred (100) toothpicks.
You must make a shape using two to four (2-4) toothpicks.
Then make a 3D model out of your shapes.

Note: You can only use one shape.

Well, I'm still thinking, but the first shapes that popped into my mind were the triangle, square, and cross.

Triangles take three toothpicks, so you'd have 34 triangles.
Squares take four toothpicks, so you'd have 25 squares.
Crosses take two toothpicks, so you'd have 50 crosses.

We don't get our toothpicks until Monday, so I was sketching some ideas using squares when I came up with this. It has flow and can (hopefully) stand up, which is what the teacher requested. She's also approved my design.

So, I made 25 toothpick squares. Each wave has 11 squares, and three squares holding the two parallel waves together so the entire model can balance and stand on its own.

I decided to make a 3D model to see how it may look in real life and to make sure everything fits.

Comments and critique welcome.
Thanks.

Those connection points between the squares along the form look awfully fragile. Are you sure it will stand?
