The Gemini School of Visual Arts & Communication is seeking a Part-Time Art Instructor. We only hire professionals in their own field—not professional teachers. Therefore, our ideal candidate is a fine artist or illustrator first—but is passionate about sharing their knowledge with students. Our instructors must demonstrate traditional, realistic painting skills.
We believe that professional artists need time to develop their art, paint and exhibit-which ultimately benefits our students. This is a steady part-time position where instructors teach Monday-Friday for 4 hours each day, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. The school year begins in October and ends the first week of July. School breaks include 3 weeks during Christmas, 3 weeks during Easter break and 3 months in the summer, thus allowing the artist/instructor plenty of time to work on personal projects. This is a salaried position. Pay is very competitive and dependant on experience. No teaching experience is required and training where necessary will be given. Position ideally starts on October 6th.
We encourage applicants to visit our website at www.geminischool.com and then submit their resume and portfolio samples. Please remember we are looking for strong traditional, realistic painting skills. Resumes and jpg samples (or a link to a portfolio site) may be sent to colette@geminischool.com. No phone calls please.
About Gemini School:
At the Gemini School of Visual Arts & Communication we believe a successful art career starts with both Traditional and Digital Art training. During our intense four-year studio program, students are taught classic drawing and painting, and then apply those skills using the latest creative software in our state-of-the-art Digital Media Lab. Classes are small and taught by professional artists. Our graduates are successful concept artists, illustrators and fine artists working in videogames/film, advertising, publishing and more.
The Gemini School is located in Cedar Park, Texas (just outside of Austin. TX).
