Hi. I'm wondering what's a convenient way to get really sharp edges like the one in that image?

I usually work with the hard round brush with pressure sensitivity. I just go back and forth until I get a harder edge.
How do you suppose he did it?
Thanks!

The best thing to do is to work on your images at a high resolution, so when you save a lower resolution version of it for the web the painting will tighten up really well, and your edges will look crisper. Using a hard-edged brush should work just fine. Also, if you paint the silhouette of the spaceship first, you can lock the transparency (or create a clipping mask layer) so that painting over the edge will not effect the shape of the edges at all, keeping them crisp.

True sharp edges can be achieved in quite a few ways. Ofcourse you need a high-resolution image to begin with.
I hardly ever work woth hard-edged brushes though. That might work for an edge but when painting within an object it doesn't.
The most flexible way to achieve hard edges is by first drawing a path. Paths are editable and you can turn them into selections quite easily. As long as you don't feather that selection, it will be crisp. You can still paint with a soft brush but the edge will be sharp.
Hope this helps.
