Absolutely amazing work for the scale! You manage to capture their individual characters with amazing detail!
Thank you for sharing your creations. The only complaint I have is... More sculpts please! HA HAAA!
Keep on sculpting, the clay don't sculpt itself!

That is solid work in many different areas - TALENT if I am to judge.
Is the first one Moebius-inspired?
Your Skin-texture around the eyes of the guy with the round ears - are just fantastic.

OMFG!!! Your work is amazing. You HAVE to post up some more. And you really need to show us a start to finish process so we can get some insight into how you get such amazing detail in your work. They are small, and yet the detail is simply amazing. The guy with the round ears looks alive! MORE MORE MORE!!

What an interesting and unique style! And I love how tiny your stuff is! It's so surprising to marvel at all the detail and then find out a lot of them are only a few inches tall!

Wow.. As everyone's said, for such small work its amazing to see so much detail. Do you still use an armature for your tiny busts? And have you made your own tiny tools?? I'd love to see how you work on such small scales!
romain
October 11th, 2008, 07:24 AM
wykin > yes I always use an armature ! I have made 2 or 3 tools , but the other are "standart" tools ;) It is not so small ! :D :D

Amazing stuff, I'm glued to this thread!
Also checked out your post elsewhere (Shiflett Bros Forums) and I really really love the "autobiographic" one with the candle on his head.
I just have a couple questions I'm dying to ask :-P...
Do you do most of your sculpts in one shot, just removing all the bulk clay, and baking them at the end? Do you ever pre-bake portions of your sculpts?
I'm curious to see how detailed your armatures get on such small pieces...
Looking forward to seeing more! These are amazing little things!
EIDT: I JUST now noticed the detailing/texture you did on the cork bottle top. That's unreal, as is the fact he's got sausages in his pocket. Delicious.

These are great. I love the small details of the hiker...the top button undone or missing, the wrinkles, the bulging pockets....they all work together so well and add so much interest.
