Job Description:
Luminous Arts is looking for a versatile 2D artist to help us create games
and various other entertainment products. The ideal candidate is a solid
2D artist with well-rounded capabilities and a working knowledge of game
-development pipelines. Subject matter is the usual sci-fi/fantasy gaming
genre but also ranges to younger audiences as well.

Primary responsibilities revolve around texturing 3D models, but may
include assisting with conceptual design, UI design, illustration, sequential
storytelling, etc. Ideal candidate will be able to start in a part-time,
on-site capacity as necessary, but can hopefully become a full team
member if we work well together.

Responsibilities:

Produce quality textures for 3D models.
Process various other 2D creative tasks as they arise.
Collaborate with art director, assist rest of team as necessary.
Work closely with small creative team, actively seek feedback, and
rapidly incorporate it into the work.
Follow the production schedule and turn in quality work on time.



Requirements:

Solid art fundamentals, including drawing, painting, perspective, color,
texture, shape, anatomy, lighting, etc
Strong digital painting capabilities. (Photoshop preferred)
Substantial examples of relevant artwork: texture art for 3D models,
vehicle/tech turnarounds, environment concept paintings, character
designs, UIs, sequential panels, etc. (We don't need to see all of these,
but please include at least some - texture examples is a must)
Demonstrable understanding of game development and art-production
workflows.
Highly creative, driven and reliable. Self starting with a strong work
ethic. Detail oriented and precise.
Solid interpersonal and communication skills, both written and spoken.
Works and plays well with others, takes feedback well, thrives in a
challenging creative environment.
