What is ment by 'open ended'? Ahh well it's going to be fun to draw some terrified humans getting slaughtered...if it's ment to do so with 'open ended' ..........

I think open ended means you can do whatever you want. Either a character, environment, vehicle or anything themed with hunting humans.

hunger artist- awesome! lol, the silouette reads very well, and the textures add a lot to it.

X-mas beers hitting the cold streets of denmark, no time to draw, and in no state to draw later          :barf:
cheers!

Hunger_Artist :
Looks like a dog I once had.

silentbrain :
Wonder what bait he's using. Properly money, or x-mas beer :p

OLSEN :
Nice one, I really like the perspective, though I think more fog would make it creepier.

Carnifex :
Looks like a girlfriend I once had.

danielh68- man, that's a really nice picture, I like the texture!
nBt - that's great :)
dns2k - like the pic. nice colors and style.
renone - this may sound dumb, but I do some speed brainstorming... take the topic, and write down the fist 10 or 20 things that come to mind. then I take the best ones and try to develop one or incorporate 'em. I like open-end stuff sometimes, so I can practice a technical thing, and not so much focus on the conceptual aspect.

So, mine today is more of a color study/experimentation... just playin' around today.

Couldn't finish. Every time I tried to tighten it up I hated the result. Finally found time to do a DSG at least; three jobs is... ass.

14 for 14? Just got home from the bar... a little tipsy, but wanted to finish this sketch and post it...sorry no time for painting...maybe tomorrow. Anyways, here is my rendition of hunting humans... the ultimate human killing machine. Its silent (hovers), super intelligent, and deadly.

I've had this picture of Estella Warren that I've been wanting to use as a goblin type ref for a while, so I used this DSG as an excuse.

Beware what hunts humans in the night.

Ack...I wrote a bunch of comments on everyone's drawings and then hit Reset Message instead of Save Changes! :(

Well, I just wanna give props to everyone else in this thread. Some awesome work. But I"m not typing all that out again. :(

OLSEN- Nice ambience, I dig the monotone quality of this.

Carnifex- Auugh it's DAD -oh....it's just an alien...*phew* hehe...

Danielh68- getting kind of a zelda wind waker vibe here. :) Also a battlefield earth vibe..ugh. But nice use of color, it has a storybook-like quality.

Retrosolid- silhouettes are always awesome

elekon- These may be the scariest yet...in that Alessa's room in Nowhere kind of way. o_o

Patch- sweet, they look ready to kick some a$$!

Hunger Artist- nice, the textures really add to the alien-ness of the character!

nBT- ROFL!

COBRA- ah man, I remember this scene! In particular I remember how bad some of the effects were in the climax. This brings back the laughter that I had during that scene in the movie. :)

dns2k- hmm, perhaps he is life drawing with REAL MATERIALS??

Shambacca- nice robot take on it, I wouldn't want to see one of those down the street of me!

MrKayne- That's a really nice study there! If there's only one thing I would wish for, a reflection of the hunter in his eyeball would be perfect maybe :D

ilustre- robots with eyeballs...fack, that always gives me the shivers!

lavhoes- cool texture on the skin there, and dynamic lighting as well. :)

Silvrain- still, it is pretty cool, the dragons are reading very well, and although the humans are pretty rough they read as well. Even though you aren't satisfied I think it was a good use of your time :)

renone- sweet textures, nice ambiguousness of it's body. It seems a little goofy though, esp with that questionmark, but if that's how you meant it then that's cool :)

DV8- Looks really armoured for bear! Looks like it could take on the Predator even.

fukifino- the pose is pretty cool, like it is about to step forward silently to take a chunk out of my back. x_x
yes I agree with you on the comments...wow this takes a long time haha

http://64.191.99.205/~silentbr/dump/110803-dsg-huntinghumans.jpg

Humans that hunt other humans. Was going for sociopath character design but..it kinda got derailed around the third head and turned into some kinda...frankenstinian monster.

Maybe I should stick with non-sequitur :D

MrKayne
November 8th, 2003, 11:39 AM
nBt - yeah, is it that obvious. :D I'd have to say that is my first fully digital painting... I was never really great at 'real' painting, so I'm trying to get some digital practice now and then.

silentbrain - hey, I like the six-tych... or dual triptych, or whatever. Crazy colors and stuff, but it seems to work well together.

Yeah, mine also was supposed to be like the human hunting humans thing, too, but in the end I kinda like how you couldn't tell if he was the hunter or the hunted.
