Ok, so I was working on an image. I've been using chalk for my media for applying textures. It has worked great. All of a sudden it just stopped doing the texture and began to act like a normal piece of chalk with no texture. I've had a few odd things with Painter X and my tablet. So maybe I bumped something?

Here's the scenario as best as I can recall:

I had a selection up to contain where the texture was going

using chalk, which I havent had issue with before

I had just undone a number of strokes to retry what I was working on, so it was working seconds before.

I checked the Directional Grain, which seems to do little more than drop the texture, that wasnt clicked.

The texture works with similar media still, like charcoal, so it isnt a program wide thing.

I tried shutting Painter down and reopening to see if it was just a weird glitch, no result.

Any suggestions? Might it be some weird little check box or button that I could have inadvertently stumbled upon a shortcut for on my tablet?

Help me Obi Wan Painter, you are my only hope

You might try the right pointing arrow on the brush bar and select "Restore Default Variant". This will give you the original Painter setting for that particular brush.

That did the trick. Thanks a lot.
